Problems:
Public data shows that more than 70% of pig farms with African swine fever epidemics have detected African swine fever virus (ASFV) in the water. The Megan C. Niederwerder research team of Kansas State University in the United States found that the African swine fever virus can easily cause swine infection through the oral route, and drinking water is more likely to cause clinical disease (Emerging Infectious Diseases, 25(5) May, 2019).
In August 26, 2018 that an African swine fever outbreak occurred in Romania’s largest pig farm with extremely high biosecurity, and 140,000 heads pigs were killed. The African swine fever virus that caused the epidemic is believed to be contaminated Waters of the Danube river.
Solutions
Along with other biosecurity measures, the use of long acting acidifier with positive charge technology is the main way of preventing viruses in drinking water in pigs. Including the ASF virus in contaminated water lines.
Especially in the period of repopulation.
In cooperation with the Harbin Veterinary Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, we have carried out research on the killing of African swine fever virus with acidifiers. The study found that 0.15% or 1.5 liters of KINGLY ACID can completely kill the African swine fever virus in drinking water (see Figure 3).
Figure 3 Indirect immunofluorescence test
Note: Same as the negative control, no specific fluorescence of ASFV was detected at dilutions of 1:300-1:600, and there was no significant difference between the two. The 1:800-1:5000 dilution and positive control can detect specific fluorescence.
Legend: A. C, E were NC, 10 times diluted PC, PC0, NC--negative control, PC--positive control B. D and F are J600, J800 and J2000 respectively
Indirect immunofluorescence experiment (IFA)
Same as the negative control group, no specific fluorescence of ASFV was detected at dilutions of 1:300-1:600, and there was no significant difference between the two groups. The 1:800- 1:5000 dilution and positive control can detect specific fluorescence (see picture).

Acidify drinking water and promote digestion
Kingly Acid has a strong acidic capacity, diluted 1000-2000 times, and can always keep the pH value of drinking water at 4.0-4.2, see Table 2.
Table 2 Buffering capacity of Kingly Acid
Adding Kingly Acid to drinking water can lower the pH value in the stomach, thereby activating pepsin, promoting protein decomposition and promoting digestion. According to reports, the use of acidifiers can increase the dry matter digestibility of diets by 1.7%-2.28%, protein digestibility by 2.5%-6.1%, energy digestibility by 2.3%-9.8%, and minerals (Ca, P, Mg, Zn) utilization rate increased by about 30%, crude fiber digestibility increased by 26.5%.
